Posts Tagged ‘Invitations’

I have a serious weakness for Fonts and Graphic Design.
In another Universe I am a Graphic Designer,
I’m sure of it.

So I am constantly designing and creating graphic invitations.
My previous computer was chock-a-block FULL of graphic designs. I mean literally!
I had to get a second computer, as I filled the hard drive of my first one.

But that is all beside the point : )

So I’ve been playing on PicMonkey
– a free online photo editing software –
to create some Graphic Invitations that I could share with you guys . .
. . . that you can utilise to make your very own Graphic Invitations.

After a bit of playing around I replicated the design (as seen on the PicMonkey blog).
I’ve added a couple of my own ‘touches’ to it. But that’s not the good bit.
I have created a super easy tutorial to follow.

This means you can make your very own version
– with all your own details –
and get it printed.

I will be publishing this Tutorial in three stages over the coming week.

There is a distinct pleasure in making your own invitations.

`Completed Invitation

Choosing the colours and fonts and overall theme.
It’s a chance to showcase you own style and personality.

Nowadays, with so much FREE online software available,
every ‘creative’ now also has the chance to create a designer graphic invitation. . .
. . . without having to learn Photoshop!

I use PicMonkey,
however there are stacks of fantastic online sites.
Just do a search under Free Photo Editing Software
or go to my list of 31 sites here 🙂

This tutorial is Part One of creating your own C6 invitation.
C6 is a postcard size,
OR
105 mm x 145 mm
(metric sizing)
4″ x 6″
(imperial).

I will post Part Two in the coming week . . . . the Graphic Design Steps (so cool).

.

So head to PicMonkey and have a play using my easy tutorial 🙂

If you do have a crack-a-lack yourself, I would LOVE to see your creation.
Put a link or upload your image into the “Comments”.

Just one piece of advice . . .

.

If you intend to design and print your own stationery using this DIY method,
I cannot strength strongly enough how important it is to
get the invitations printed PROFESSIONALLY.

It will cost you fractionally more than if you did it yourself
yet
the overall quality will be incredibly higher!

Trust me on this.

I will endeavour, however do not promise,
to post a downloadable freebie EVERY Friday.
Unfortunately, my intentions and passion are far greater
than my time management skills : ) ***

My very first freebie is a page I designed using a gorgeous feather graphic from the Graphics Fairy. A humbling blog that promotes creativity in every form and fashion.

Here is a picture of my design as used as an invitation.
Sorry about dodgy lighting in the photo!

Printed onto Glamour Puss "Diamond White" & mounted onto Zsa Zsa "Papaya" and finally Glamour Puss "Champers"

And here is the black PDF for you to use as you wish : )
